    Note pertaining to 1999.136.1 - an embroidered linen fragment attributed to Ann 'Nancy' Christian Fleming, wife of Col. William Fleming. The note reads: The center of this piece came from a sheets [sic] of Mrs. Col. Fleming who was Mrs Anne Christain of Agusuta County daughter of Col. Wm. Christian [sic]. Several of Mrs. Flemings items ame to Ky after the R. War who left many [illeg] in Ky. The sheets came through Mrs Fleming's daughter...

  2. Provenance for a sitz-bath - Note was written in June 18, 1964

    Letter of provenance on MacDowell letterhead from Coallie (illeg.) Z. Macdowell concerning a sitz-tub or sitz-bath gifted to the Historical Society (1964.55A). It belonged to John Cushwa and his wife, Elizabeth, who moved from Berks Couny, Pennsylvania in 1756 to Dry Run (now Washington County, Maryland).
