Large cardstock poster from the Norfolk & Western Railway. The image is titled 'Coal West - Passengers East,' and is of a freight pulling coal at the right edge and a passenger train at the left. The station is listed at left of the passenger train as Williamson. The caption reads: Coal West - Passengers East A solid trainload of coal for the Great Lakes area gaining speed from Norolk and Western classification yards at Williamson, W. Va. passes the raod's streamlined Powhatan Arrow - Cincinnati to Norfolk speedster - as it pauses at the station in 1953. Engine is a Class A with auxiliary water tank allowing it to run non-stop between major terminals. |
