Letter from George Ellis to R.D. Stoner |
Dates of Creation |
November 10 1955 |
Scope & Content |
Letter from George Ellis, Trust Officer with the First National Exchange Bank, to R.D. Stoner, Clerk of the Circuit Court of Boutetourt County. The letter is typed on First National Exchange Bank letterhead. The letter asks about a deed from William McClanahan to Michael Miller around the year of 1837, recorded in the office of Boutetourt County, in Deed Book 22, page 339, which was thought to have been purchased as to include a provision setting up a cemetery reservation. At the very bottom edge of the paper, there seems to be a typed response from R.D. Stoner's Clerk, Mrs. B.M. Allen, concerning the tract of land to Michael Miller. This deed is dated June 24, 1837, and concerns 187.5 acres from James C. Madison to Michael Miller, situated in Botetourt County, adjoining the lands of E. & James McClanahan and Jeremiah Whitten. |
