4. Partial letter (person unknown) - 1894

   A deteriorated partial letter that has been written by an unknown person. The content that can be deciphered mentions a General Walker who went to Norfolk in April 1861 and given the position of adjutant-general and a rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Also mentioned are the words fourth term, delegates, and legislature. It appears that Walker was elected to the House of Delegates and represented Petersburg in 1862.
