    Manuscript of an Article of Agreement between Sarah Jane Gamble and Edwin McLean Hopkins describing their relationship and agreeing to certain terms if they get married. This document was signed by both parties and filed in the state of Florida by B. B. Wambwell, Asst. Sec. of State, Florida. It may have been a spoof, but has Florida state seal on the document.

    This letter is from a Miss I. Hardin of Clearwater, Florida to Mr. Edmund P. Goodwin, president of the Roanoke Historical Society. The content of the letter concerns two men by the name of William Cross, one apparently the son of the other. Since the records are pre-Roanoke, Botetourt County is mentioned frequently.     This deed made on July 29, 1829 conveys 170 acres in Botetourt County, Virginia from Jacob Brewbaker and Susana Brewbaker, his wife, to Jacob Grisso for $435 Virginia money. This is the same tract patented to Jacob Grisso's father on March 11, 1799. A 25-acre tract previously sold by David Dame to William Henry is reserved from this transaction. The metes and bounds and adjacent property owners are named.

    Deed for the sale of 65 and 1/2 acres, located in Botetourt County, Virginia, by Tabler Vinyard and his wife Jane Vinyard to Abraham Vinyard for the sum of $660.00. It states this land is a part of the dower of Tabler Vinyard in his father's lands. The metes and bounds are identified as well as the adjacent property owners, John Vinyard and John Muse.
