  5. Company F, Spanish American War - A black and white photograph of the portraits of those in Company F of the 2nd Virginia Regiment of the United States Volunteer Infantry. The portraits have been arranged in a unique arrangement, with a large portrait of a mustached individual at the center. Others spiral out around it, and make a grid around the edges of the paper. The reverse of the photograph contains handwritten notes concerning Napoleon Madison Wade, a Spanish American War veteran. The reverse reads: Napoleon Madison Wade, son of Thomas Lous Wade and Mildred Burton Wade, born Mar. 1, 1856 and died Dec. 24, 1917. Napoleon Madison Wade, Corporal, Company F., Second Regiment, Virginia Volunteer Infantry organized Roanoke, Virginia, July 5, 1892. Mustered into Service May 12, 1898, Richmond, Va. Discharged December 15, 1898. Certificate of pension to his widow, Emmaline Florida Staley Wade is No. 8988.731. Spanish-American War. Member of United Spanish-American War Veterans. Captain George H. Beasley, Camp. No. 3., Roanoke Va. Napoleon Madison Wade, born Mar. 1, 1856, Dublin Va, died Dec. 24, 1917 Roanoke Va. Emmaline Florida Staley Wade, born Nov. 27, 1861 Rurual Retreat Va, died Mar 12, 1942, Miami Fl. Married Sept 2, 1879, Rural Retreat Virginia. Both Napoleon Madison Wade and wofe Emmaline Florida Staley Wade are buried in Evergreen Burial Park, Roanoke Virginia. Top Row, count six pictures from either left or right and directly under number six is Napoleon Madison Wade.

    A folder of postcards depicting happenings at Camp McClellan in Anniston, Alabama. It was sent by Vernon Gish to his sister, Ola Gish. The envelope is postmarked September 9, 1917 and has the title "Scenes of Soldier Life" printed on it with a soldier kneeling and aiming his rifle. Vernon Gish was in Company F, 2nd Virginia Infantry.
