6. Flooding on Grandin Road circa 1978 - A black and white photograph of a flooded Grandin Road taken in front of the Grandin Theatre during a rain storm circa 1978. The stores across the street are the Thriftway Super Market, 1319 Grandin Road, and the First National Exchange Bank of Virginia (Grandin Road office). During this period, the Grandin Theatre was being used as the Mill Mountain Playhouse Productions, following a fire that had destroyed their prior home in the Rockledge Inn on Mill Mountain. The identification on the reverse states that Danny Ryan's Porche is in the foreground at the curb.

7. Memorial Bridge Dedication, 1926 - A black and white photograph of the dedication of Memorial Bridge in Roanoke, Virginia in 1925. In this photograph, it appears that one of the Boy Scouts is about to unveil one of the five bronze memorial plaques. Object ID# 1980.4.4 shows the unveiled plaque.

9. Mick-or-Mack Store - Newspaper caption says "The Mick-or-Mack new store on Winborne Street, in the Grandin Road shopping center, nears completion. The $75,000 structure will be air-conditioned and will feature enlarged departments. Parking space for 100 cars will be provided." Mick-or-Mack opened their first store at 26 Church Ave SE in Roanoke in March 1927. Other stores opened in Salem and Vinton, as well as elsewhere in Roanoke during 1928 and 1929. Shortly after the chain began to expand throughout the western half of Virginia and into West Virginia.

There is a pile of stones to the right of the concrete sidewalk. The central entrance is partially covered with ivy and there are cars parked to the right front of the church. 12. Roanoke Public Library, Raleigh Branch, Circa 1940 - The Raleigh Court Library, a one-story brick building with stone trim around door and window sills. Roof appears to be slate. At bottom is a street with street car tracks and side walk in front of building. On right there appears to be an alley and the side of another brick building. On left is what appears to be a fence post with vines growing on it. In background on left is what appears to be low brick building and the back of a house on Westover Avenue. Building now used as a commercial building. Photograph reads "Davis" in white letters in bottom right section.

13. Roanoke Railway and Electric Company, Car 47 - A black and white photograph of the red and cream colored streetcar number 47, acquired in 1926, taken near Grandin Road and Northumberland Avenue SW (Raleigh Court line). This was the last streetcar to run on the streets of Roanoke. On July 31, 1948, streetcar service to the area was abandoned, which also marked the end of streetcar transit altogether within the city of Roanoke.
