42nd D. A. R. Congress, 1933 - A black and white photograph of the women attending the 42nd Continental Congress of the Daughters of the American Revolution (D. A. R.). This photograph shows a few of the ladies of the Virginia Delegation. A page (a younger member who officially assists the delegates) is dressed in white and is standing at the center of the picture. Mrs. Kessee is to her left, and to her left is Mrs. Fleming. At the page's right is Mrs. Wallis, and behind her to her right is Mrs. Horton (sixth from left on back row). Several of the women are wearing ribbon sashes, badges, and insignia of membership and offices held. The ladies are standing on a gravel path on the lawn of what appears to be the D. A. R. Headquarters building. Trees and the statue of a woman are between them and the building.
