4. Farmer's Business Record - Ledger for the Moomaw family farm. Record book keeps a variety of accounts, but recorded entries are for Grain Sold; Grain Raised; Account of Hay, Straw, Etc; Butter; Salad (onions, pears, tomatoes, cucumbers; Winter Melons; Corn; Market (strawberries, beets, beans, tomatoes, apples, mellons [sic] apples, potatoes). Dates range from 1911-1922. Bits of paper, shopping notes, coupons, and other sundries throughout the paper.

5. Letters of O.E. Obenshain - Canvasbound book of carbon copy letters of O. E. Obenshain - Farming, Mineral, and Town Properties, Buchanan, Virginia. These copies of letters (500 pages in total) of O. E. Obenshain, an enterpreneur, relate to the purchase of land and property of the 'Boom'lands of Roanoke, Buchanan, Eagle Rock, and other areas around Roanoke during the recession of the 1890s. Letters are in blue and purple typewriter ink on tissue thin semi-transparent paper. Spine reads in black ink: LETTERS 1897 It seems that Obenshain hoped to capitalize on the cheap land, by purchasing, building, and then reselling. Letters contain faint signatures, and are to people throughout Virginia concerning matters of land, materials, payment, and other business related matters.

6. Shi Kang Sorority Ledger - 1940

   Ledger detailing the dues and membership for the Shi Kang Sorority from 1940 until 1962. Ledger also keeps track of social expenses and revenue from the group's projects. Shi Kang was a social and service sorority for women of the Roanoke area. Shi Kang still functions on a limited basis.
