Black & white photograph of the interior of a living room, floral patterened carpet covering the entirety of the room. A fluted and columned fireplace mantle is placed along the right wall, a marble inset surrounding the small wrought iron grate in the center. A gold over-mantle mirror hangs above the fireplace. The room is covered in floral wallpaper, with trim to hang pictures and paintings from, in line with the top of the mantle mirror. A Sheraton Parlor chair sits in the center of the room. Bits of elaborate furniture are clustered around the walls of the room, an entryway visilbe at the left of the image, into an area also clustered with furniture. Most likely interior of the building pictured in 2019.21.7.01. This is the home of David Flickwir, in which he lived before moving to Roanoke in 1881. |
