The store was located at the S.E. corner of Eighth and Berks Streets. The letter is written from a nephew to his uncle (Joseph Reigle to [assumed] Charles Richardson, detailing the death of their mother, and apologizing for the delay in writing, as there was no excuse. 17. Veterinary Dental Parlor - This photograph, which features the veterinary dental parlor of Dr. P. Haley, V.D. was probably taken in downtown Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The signage in the street level window particularly describes the business as a "Horse Dental Parlor" promising "Your Horses Teeth ---ed while You Wait". Three horses already within the horse dental parlor are held in position behind the window for the moment of the photograph. Two additional horses are held by an attendant just inside the entrance. A man in a dark suit and a straw hat holds a horse harnessed to a smart looking carriage on the street in front of the business. A ribbed sheet across the horse's back provides fly protection. A man wearing an apron stands just to the left of the dental parlor window. Several other men and boys appear in the photograph. American flags decorate the street level of the business indicating a special occasion. This unusual photograph was taken by C.E. Stuart, Photographer, 4130 Haverford Ave.
