5. Elmwood Drapes - Long, rectangular woven rug in colorful blocks with geometric designs. Fringe of warp at each short edges. In a note from Martha Hull, daughter of Mary Terry Goodwin Kuyk, about the drapes: "I agree they look like rugs and indeed mother used them as throw rugs at the cabin on Bent Mountain. She insisted that they were 'drapes.' When we were putting the cabin to bed for the winter and storing anything the mice could eat, I asked her about the rugs. She said, 'those are drapes. They hung at the windows at Elmwood.' That's the only reason I know they were from Elmwood. And she did not call the curtains at other windows 'drapes,' but curtains. If you want to call them rugs (as I did), I won't argue because that's what they look like. I have a photo album with some Elmwood interiors, but there are no photos of main rooms. "
