Hunting and Taxidermy scrapbook - 1924
Naturalist, hunting, and taxidermy scrapbook compiled by Michael B. Newman of Roanoke, Virginia. Contains a plethora of photos, newspaper clippings, letters from local colleges, and even a piece of tanned 'human' skin. This scrapbook is a small glimpse into Roanoke in the 1930s, especially as it related to hunting and hunt clubs.

Letter - November 7, 1918
A letter to the City Manager, Mr. W. F. Hunter, from H. W. Hobson. Pertains to the poor condition of sidewalk on Hamilton Terrace near Mr. Hobson's residence and would like it to be maintained during inclement weather. Letter written on letterhead of Roanoke City Mills. The Roanoke city directory for 1918 lists Mr. Hobson's address as 1418 Hamilton Terrace SE, and that he hold the position of Secretary with Roanoke City Mills.

Back of Form lists General Instructions on Fair Market Value, Paintings and Antiques, Conditional Sales Contracts, Automobiles, Payment of Taxes, and Tax Rate.

National Exchange Bank Building. - circa 1905
Postcard of the National Exchange Bank Building, Roanoke, Virginia. The bank was chartered May 7, 1889. It eventually moved to 201 South Jefferson Street, on the southeast corner of Jefferson Street and Campbell Avenue. The reverse of the postcard has the following message "This picture was made over 40 years ago. Some change. Sincerely Ernest Baldwin." The handwritten date accompanying the note is 20 Oct. 1950.
