1. Basil Warren, Driver for Stone Printing, 1941 - A black and white photograph of a Basil D. Warren, delivery driver for Stone Printing, shown loading merchandise onto a panel delivery truck. He is dressed in a company uniform and he is putting boxes into a Stone Printing and Manufacturing Company panel delivery truck. The Ford panel delivery truck, circa 1938, has a running board, spare tire mounted on the side and round headlamps that are attached above the front fenders. The Ford name is visible on the hubcaps and the tires have a single white line on them. Painted on the upper rear side of the truck is "The Stone Printing and Manufacturing Company, Roanoke, Virginia. Printing, Binding, Ruling, Engraving". The photo is signed "Love Basil, 3/41" on the front lower right and the back contains this inscription to his fianceé, Mattie Louise Hancock: "To the sweetest girl in the world".

2. Bell Printing Company - The original black and white photograph of Bell Printing Company, later Stone Printing & Manufacturing Company, in Roanoke, Virginia. The photograph shows the front exterior of the building with five men posing in front. The 1890 Roanoke City Directory has the business location as 6 Railroad Avenue SW, with J. P. Bell as president and Ed L. Stone as manager.

3. Cigar store interior - This is thought to be an interior view of the Greene Brothers Cigar Company store, established at the corner of Campbell Avenue and 2nd Street SW in 1915. The shop sold cigars, newspapers, and candies and had begun offering fountain drinks by the time the location was taken over by Turner Cigar Company in 1929. Although unidentified, the individual pictured may be Barry Greene who was active in the business and served as a salesman for Turner Cigar Company when the location changed hands. See Raymond Barnes' "A History of the City of Roanoke" at page 525. A sticker on the reverse of the photograph indicates that it was donated by Russell Hoal.

Jefferson Street - Black and photograph taken at a location on North Jefferson Street in Roanoke, Virginia between the Stone Printing and Manufacturing Co. and Hotel Roanoke looking southward along Jefferson Street. Buildings on the right are Stone Printing and Manufacturing Co. at 110-130 North Jefferson Street, Hotel Stratford at 106 North Jefferson Street, and the Norfolk & Western general office building at 16 North Jefferson Street. On the left is the wall surrounding the Hotel Roanoke property. Horses, buggies, and wagons are moving along the dirt street. The tall building in the distance on the left is the Terry Building at 207 South Jefferson Street. The railroad crossing gates are in the down position. A man wearing suspenders looks from the window of the Stone Printing building. This photograph appears to be a copy. The number "16837" appears in the image at the lower right corner. The lettering on the Stone Printing building appears to be enhanced. The lettering on the side of the building and the awning may have been added to the negative or the photograph after the picture was taken. This is an earlier print than that shown in object ID 1984.31.01. A black border has been added to the lettering on the building in this version of the photograph.

8. Old Hollins Road (9th Avenue Northeast) - A George Davis photograph taken in Northeast Roanoke to show the poor condition of Roanoke streets. This photo is part of a series taken by Davis, commissioned by Edward Stone of Stone Printing to illustrate the poor condition of Roanokke streets.The engine on the tracks in the background bears the name of Vaughn Construction Co., Roanoke, Va. The large brick building is the Melrose Distilling Company,Rectifiers and Bottlers. The building on the hill advertises "Use Caspers' sweet mash whiskey". The car is George Davis's Buick coupe. This photograph is identical to the photograph entered in the History Museum Photograph Collection as Object ID 1990.69.1076.

9. Roanoke Printers - Picture of "Printing Office" was featured in the History of the Roanoke Times 125th anniversary publication. These clapboard buildings were reportedly located on the present (2014) location of the Roanoke Times on Campbell Avenue circa late 19th century. However further study offered the possibility this was the Bell Printing Company which was managed by Edward L. Stone who later founded The Stone Printing Company on North Jefferson Street.

10. Stone Printing Building - Front exterior view of the Stone Printing building located on Jefferson Street opposite Hotel Roanoke. The operations of Stone Printing and Manufacturing Company began at this location in 1891 and after several expansion phases were encased in the attractive stone veneer in 1907. In recent years the building housed the regional offices of the Social Security Administration. Raymond Barnes' "A History of the City of Roanoke" at pages 149, 235, and 430.
