4. Bedouins Football Team - Image #1 is a photograph of the members of the 1930 Bedouins football team made up of former high school and college stars. The team was organized to play in a December 6, 1930, Christmas charity game against the Roanoke College squad. The game which was played to a 6 - 6 tie before a crowd of 1500 spectators was halted by dusk. It was played at Maher Field and featured unrestricted substitution. Image #2 reproduces the back of the photo and lists the names of those photographed. Team members Claude Moorman and Jere Bunting were mentioned in news reports of the game but are not pictured. "Chicago", the water boy, is included in the photograph.

10. George C. Marshall Library at VMI - Virginia Military Institute (VMI) is the oldest state-supported military college and one of six senior military colleges in the United States. It was established in 1839 on the site of the Lexington, Virginia state arsenal. All VMI students are military cadets, unlike other state military colleges in the United States. VMI offers degrees in 14 disciplines in the fields of engineering, science and liberal arts. VMI has been called the "West Point of the South", and unlike federal service academies, all VMI cadets must participate in the Reserve Officer's Training Corps (ROTC) and are not required to serve in the military upon graduation. However, they may accept a commission in any U. S. military branch or pursue civilian careers upon graduation. In 1997 VMI was the last U.S. military college to admit women. The George C. Marshall Library was named after one of VMI 's graduates and for his leadership in war and peace. The library and museum were opened in 1964 and are housed in the George C. Marshall Foundation building.
