Lucy is writing at the end of the Christmas season (she did not get home for Christmas) and she stayed at Mrs. Persico's school in Richmond and has visited some of her local kin folks. She comments on not receiving any letters from her brothers, wanting to see Emma and her children, and news of her visits in Richmond.
